Originally from South Africa, the Harmers chose to marry in Mauritius in 2000. After returning several times as tourists, the island captured their hearts, becoming their first choice. “As I began planning our retirement, Mauritius was the obvious answer. The country suits me a lot. The people are friendly and have welcomed us with open arms every time we’ve come on vacation, and I really enjoy Mauritian cuisine,” shares Dion.
